Bright gold. Vaguely cheesy at first, developing into a moderate, lightly toasty, honeyed and fruity, pear-like aroma with a trace of underlying peat. It gets more grainy and the vanilla is heightened after exposure, though the intensity is diminished. Third pass returns the classic Longmorn sniff - cereals and honey. Palate shows first class balance with a delicious stewed pear / spice profile that's amazingly vibrant for the whisky's age.
