The Glenlivet Winchester Collection series of 50 Year Old single malt Scotch whiskies comprises some of the rarest and most precious in the world. Vintage 1966 is the second chapter of the series and has been guarded for generations at The Glenlivet. It was originally Robert Arthur who laid down the exceptional sherry casks in 1966, then cherished by each Master Distiller over the last five decades. It’s taken a lifetime of care and is released at the peak of maturation by current Master Distiller Alan Winchester – the series is named in his honour. This exquisite collection of precious whiskies represents the legacy of generations of craftsmen and honours the past, celebrates the present and looks to the future. The trademark soft, sweet, sumptuous complexity of The Glenlivet is layered by a delicate spice – a teasing intermingling of cinnamon and liquorice – and offers an exceptionally long, smooth finish with a pleasing hint of dryness. The distinct flavour experience released in Vintage 1966 have been influenced by the exceptional sherry casks in which the liquid has matured. The colour of the liquid is luxuriously dark and unique because of the rich sherry influence making this a wonderful whisky to cherish for generations.
